Common problems associated with this compressor are failure of the electronic control valve and internal seizure of the pistons due to over heating via the failure of the cooling aparatus. Because of the clutchless design and the fact that the compressor is a radial disk type, most mechanics don't even know when the compressor has internally seized because the radial disk design orbits the piston shoes even when the piston has seized in the cylinder chamber. Also, condenser is not flushable and the internal drier dessicate bag must be replaced after any servicing that opens system to any atmosphere. If any signs of over heating are evident it is strongly recommended that the condenser be replaced and cooling fans be tested for proper speed and start up.
